Here on New Moon Rise we have a selection of creatures you may have.

Were animals:
A were-animal, is a person who is afflicted with a virus that forcibly makes them go through a painstaking transformation every full moon. The were-animal virus is a mutation of the shifter genome which human scientists tried to replicate in order to enhance the human race. The genome did not adapt to the unnatural environment of the normal human body and thus mutated into a contagion; a dormant one that would surface every full moon. The were-virus turns the infected into a person whom gains some animal-like characteristics and go into a grotesque transformation every full moon. In the cases of were-animals, the beast half and human half don’t mix well and it is a constant battle of the inner demons. They will never be in tune with their animal half as well as shifters are. They cannot change into their other form at will; only beneath the full moon do they transform. Plus they don't get a fluffy tail!!! Shifters (depending on species) get tails in their anthro forms. Unfortunately weres don't; tailbones don't count!

Shifter:
A shifter, is a person who has the innate ability of therianthropy. What is therianthropy? It is the shifting or morphing of a human being into an animal or conversely, of an animal into human form. Shifters on BMC have three shifting forms: a human form, an animal form, and then an anthropomorphic version of their animal form. They can shift at will, anytime they want, wherever they want although an extreme emotional state may prompt them to shift, and sometimes the full moon draws them to embrace their wild side. The shift phase is pretty quick, taking around 30s to perhaps 90s, depending on how complex is the animal. Shifting to smaller forms will always be faster than shifting to larger forms. Emotional states or being heavily wounded can cause a shifter to shift into their animal or anthro form, but can also cause the anthro form to shift into the human form because it is slightly harder to maintain the anthro form without a clear mind and solid control.

Each individual shifter is associated with one realistic, found in the world today animal species, and can only shift into that particular species; they are categorized like wolf shifter, bear shifter, tiger shifter, gorilla, rat, dog, bird, crocodile, etc. In their human form, they physically look like any other human being. In their animal form, they are relatively the same size as their wild animal counterparts; a wolf shifter shifts into a wolf about the same size as any wolf found on earth. In their anthro forms, they are mostly bi-pedal, standing on two legs and look basically like their animal form standing on two legs and a bit more humanoid, covered with fur, feathers, scales, or whatever. Of course if the species is a snake shifter, they'll obviously not have legs; they'll just have arms and a long serpentine body. Clothing does not shift with the person; normally one would take off their clothing before shifting. Going to animal form makes the clothing a jungle of clothes to try and get out of while going to anthro most likely destroys their clothing. And thus as you can expect, when you shift back to human form---you're in your birthday suite!!! Their sizes do change when they go into their anthro forms; a lot of it depends on what species of shifter they are but the max a shifter can be is 8'5ft tall (unless you're a giraffe shifter...then we'll talk about that neck lol). A rat shifter will most likely be smaller than a bear shifter. Use some common judgment when deciding how tall your shifters should be in their anthro forms.

Vampires:

Vampires are a secretive species, cold and ancient and old as the dirt that sustains them. Some believe that they are descended from ancient demons who, unwilling to cede the land to the evolution of man and shifter, forsook the light of day and the towering bodies they were given at birth to possess the bodies of the living, giving their new shells immense strength, speed and longevity unparalleled by anything other than the ancient Hounds and the Immortal Maidens. The first and oldest of these demons was placed in the western most corner of Russia. He was also the most famous, bringing down hundreds of thousands of Turks in the name of bloodlust. Those that chose life, a life of servitude to him and his whims thereafter instead of a grizzly death flocked to receive the power of the shared bond with the immortal, creating the great Coven of the Dragon, which remains ensconced in eastern Romania to this day as the oldest and most powerful of the covens. The other covens of the world are all offshoots of this great house, traitors or runaways to their first Master to become of their own.
No matter which house they belong, or to which Master they lay their allegiance, Vampires are all more or less the same creature. Thye have senses of hearing sharper than almost any other creature on the planet, able to pick up even the sound of a spider spinning its web. They can see perfectly in even the darkest of environments, and have even been known to sense another creature near to them by the beating of their living heart, by the blood circulating through the veins of their prey, and by the heat that their bodies give off. Vampires in and of themselves are cold as alabaster stone, and pale from their lack of exposure to the sun. Each individual is said to have the strength to near that of a hundred fully grown men, and the ability to move with the speed of a falling star.
At their very core, Vampires are parasitic creatures that must live off of the fresh blood of living creatures to survive. They do this by sucking the very life blood of their enemies and prey through veins and arteries found in the neck, elbow, wrist, inner thigh, and even around the ankle. This act is accomplished via a letting down of the teeth, a process which the canines grow and sharpen. Letting down can be accomplished purely as a means of feeding, or can be used as an intimidation tactic, as these fangs are longer, sharper and more deadly than those that are boasted by any breed of shifter, or by an ookami or a hellhound. Unlike other supernaturals, Vampires do not have claws.

Fairies:

Fairies are immortal female fey creatures. (They have pointed ears and such)  They take substance from the electrical energy of the earth, sharing it one collective power, and giving it back through the lightening they give off via their emotions. They only eat food if they are looking to get pregnant and during a pregnancy. (Food meaning actual food. Drinks don't count unless it is a milkshake or a smoothie. Alcohol doesn't count either.) They possess preternatural strength and speed. It's said that their shrieks shatter glass and burst eardrums. With strong emotion, their eyes turn silver (This is usually companied by lightning). They strongly believe in fate.

They strongly believe in their creators, Freya and Wóden. Freya is the Norse Goddess of beauty, love and destiny. Freya was a spectacular beauty known for her appreciation of romantic music and stunning floral arrangements. That was her softer side; she was also known as the goddess of war and death. The great Freya is married to Wóden, the other half that creates the Valkyrie. He is also known as Odin. He is known as chief of the Gods and ruler of the universe.

When it comes to physical features, faries have delicate fangs and claws, but that doesn't make them any less painful. They can make them grow and disappear. They also have pointed ears, giving them a fey-like look. They can easily hide their ears with their hair.

At the end of each Fairies name, they can earn a title. These titles are given to them by the others in their Coven. They can have last names, but in the supernatural world they are known as their name and title. These titles have something to do with something big they've done. Whether it's killing someone or because of a dominant personality trait.

Hellhounds:

A hellhound is a supernatural dog in folklore. A wide variety of ominous or hellish supernatural dogs occur in mythologies around the world, similar to the often seen dragon. Features that have been attributed to hellhounds include mangled black fur, glowing red eyes, super strength or speed, ghostly or phantom characteristics, and a foul odor. Certain European legends state that if someone stares into a hellhound's eyes twice or more, that person will surely die. In cultures that associate the afterlife with fire, hellhounds may have fire-based abilities and appearance. They are often assigned to guard the entrances to the world of the dead, such as graveyards and burial grounds, or undertake other duties related to the afterlife or the supernatural, such as hunting lost souls or guarding a supernatural treasure. In European legends, seeing a hellhound or hearing it howl may be an omen or even a cause of death.

The Hellhounds travel in packs of 2-3 and leave a trail of ash in their wake. When a wicked wolf shifter falls, they are consumed by below in flames. This covers any and all markings upon the wolf, as well as their original pelt color in a permanent layer of ash. Their bodies, both human and hound alike, are cleared of any and all scarring that they received during their original lifetimes, creating a flesh slate. As such, these hounds have a very distinctive smell, that of burnt flesh and sulfur. Hellhounds are typically products of a wicked life ended in selfish battle or suicide. Once the body is consumed in fire the new hellhound awakens in its larger wolf form.

Dragons:

In the modern period, the European dragon is typically depicted as a huge, fire-breathing, scaly, horned, lizard-like creature; the creature also has leathery, bat-like wings, four legs, and a long, muscular prehensile tail. Some depictions show dragons with feathered wings, crests, fiery manes, ivory spikes running down its spine, and various exotic decorations. In folktales, dragon's blood often contains magical properties. For example, in the opera Siegfried, dragon's blood allows Siegfried to understand the language of the Forest Bird. The typical dragon protects a cavern or castle filled with gold and treasure and is often associated with a great hero who tries to slay it. Though a winged creature, the dragon is generally to be found in its underground lair, a cave that identifies it as an ancient creature of earth. Possibly, the dragons of European and Mid-Eastern mythology stem from the cult of snakes found in religions throughout the world.

Dragons can be any color and usually has an element that goes with them. Usually based on the element that they control is the color that they will be. So like a dragon that can control water would be blue and range to any green blue color. They can have a symbol on their body somewhere that tells them apart from others. They can change into a human but there are features in their human forms that they have in their dragons forms.

Regular Animals:

As you know there are also regular animals like wolves, birds and felines and what not. You may have a character of this type of creature!
